About the Town Council
The Town Council acts as the governing body of the town, with all the regulatory and corporate powers of a municipal corporation provided under California State law. In general, it directs the operation of the Town government by establishing Town policies and programs.
Town Council members are elected by the electorate of the Town for a four-year term. The members are elected on a staggered-term basis. The elections are held in November of the odd-numbered years. Each December the Mayor is chosen by the Council for a one-year term. The Town Council meets the First and Third Tuesdays of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
